Plagiarism Policy

The Editorial Team of Edumusika: Jurnal Ilmiah Pendidikan Musik acknowledges that plagiarism is unacceptable and therefore establishes the following policy, which outlines specific actions (penalties) to be taken if plagiarism is identified in an article submitted for publication in Edumusika: Jurnal Ilmiah Pendidikan Musik

Definition: Plagiarism is the deliberate or unintentional act of obtaining or attempting to obtain recognition or value for a scientific work by quoting a portion or the entirety of another party's scientific work and/or works recognized as scientific, without appropriately and accurately citing the source.

Therefore:

Articles must be original, never previously published, and not concurrently under consideration for publication elsewhere. Verbatim material taken from external sources needs to be explicitly identified to distinguish it from the original text.

Upon identifying plagiarism, the Editor-in-Chief is responsible for reviewing the article and will determine actions based on the level of plagiarism detected, following the guidelines below:

Plagiarism Levels

  • Utilizing short sentences from other articles without proper source attribution. Action: The author will receive a warning and be required to revise the text while citing correctly.

  • Plagiarizing a significant portion of other articles without appropriate citation and source attribution. Action: The submitted article will be rejected for publication in Edumusika: Jurnal Ilmiah Pendidikan Musik, and the author may face sanctions, including a prohibition from future publication in Edumusika: Jurnal Ilmiah Pendidikan Musik.

All authors of articles are accountable for the content they submit, as they all endorse the Letter of Originality of Edumusika: Jurnal Ilmiah Pendidikan Musik. In the case of article plagiarism, all authors will be subject to the same consequences.

If an author is found to have submitted a manuscript simultaneously to Edumusika: Jurnal Ilmiah Pendidikan Musik and other journals, and this dual submission is discovered during the review process or after publication, the actions outlined in point 2 above will be implemented.

In cases not covered by the rules above, the editor of Edumusika: Jurnal Ilmiah Pendidikan Musik retains the authority to impose sanctions in accordance with the editorial team's policies.
